All about InfoSnap

InfoSnap, an online registration system, is available this year to help parents pay fees, fill out paperwork, and verify information for their student. There is not an extra processing fee for online payments. If you prefer to pay your fees at school, just choose the “Skip Online Payment/Handle at School” option on the fees page. If not completed prior to Class Assignment Day on August 10, you will be asked to complete InfoSnap during Class Assignment Day. All student’s health information must be completed online on InfoSnap (green health cards will not be used this school year).

An email has been sent to the most current parent’s primary email address on record in PowerSchool from Lexington School District One. A separate email for each student gave parents instructions for using InfoSnap and included a secure code (snapcode) for parents to register their child(ren) online. If you did not receive an email with your child’s unique snapcode, please call our school office at 821-2800.

Whether you complete the registration process online or at the school, you must show proof of residency documents. These documents can include a current electrical or water bill showing your name and home address within the PHES attendance zone.

NEW STUDENT/FAMILY ORIENTATION

Orientation for new Pleasant Hill Elementary students in grades 1-5 and their families will be held on Sunday, August 20 at 3:00 p.m. in our Learning Commons.

Students will meet with our school counselors, and parents will meet with administrators. Families will also be given a tour of the school. We welcome our new families to our school!

GRADE LEVEL PARENT ORIENTATIONS

Our teachers will provide parent orientations according to the schedule below. Parents will spend time with their child’s teacher and learn about the grade level curriculum, expectations, procedures, and special activities. Please put these dates on your calendar. Thank you!

Kindergarten: Tuesday, August 15—begins at 6:00 p.m.
Grade 1: Wednesday, August 16—students meet the teacher at 5:15 p.m. and parent orientation begins at 6:00 p.m.
Grade 2: Thursday, August 17—students meet the teacher at 5:15 p.m. and parent orientation begins at 6:00 p.m.
Grade 3: Wednesday, August 16—begins at 7:00 p.m.
Grade 4: Thursday, August 24—begins at 6:00 p.m.
Grade 5: Thursday, August 31—begins 6:00 p.m.
EAGLE parent orientation for parents of new EAGLE students (grades 3, 4, 5): Wednesday, August 16 begins at 6:00 p.m.

CLASS ASSIGNMENT DAY— THURSDAY, AUGUST 10

Our 2017-2018 Class Assignment Day will be held on Thursday, August 10 from 7:30 a.m. — 7:00 p.m. in the PHES cafeteria. At this time you will be able to find out your child’s teacher and room number, purchase meal tickets, join the PTA, purchase spirit wear, discover more information about after school activities, and more! All parents that come to class assignment will be given Total Solar Eclipse glasses for each PHES student.

EVERYONE WILL BE ASKED TO PROVIDE A CURRENT UTILITY BILL TO SHOW PROOF OF RESIDENCE IN THE PLEASANT HILL ATTENDANCE AREA.

Outdoor Classroom

Pleasant Hill’s Green Team has been very busy planning and building our new Outdoor Classroom. Funding was provided from memorials given in honor of John Wukits, a beloved fifth grade teacher at PHES. The outdoor classroom is in the grassy area between the yellow and red halls. The central piece of the project is a 13 by 15 foot map of the state of South Carolina created in the concrete on the ground. This beautiful piece of art was envisioned and drawn out by Art teacher, Mrs. Anya Degtyareva. The concrete work was generously donated by Mr. Jeremy Joyner, PHES parent and owner of Custom Concrete of Lexington.

The Outdoor Classroom will accommodate a full class of students, with 5 tables and umbrellas. These items are secured into the ground with concrete. We are so grateful to Sease and Nicky Bickley, PHES parents and owners of Bickley Masonry, LLC for their generous donations of this concrete work.
